Early Pregnancy Symptoms - Light Bleeding
Light bleeding or spotting about 8-10 days after ovulation (ie the release of an egg), can be experienced by some women in the early stages of pregnancy. This usually coincides with the time a period was due and can lead to some confusion and worry.
Although most often very light, the bleeding can sometimes be mistaken for a light period. This bleeding is often implantation bleeding which is the result of a fertilised egg implanting in the uterus.
If you experience heavy or severe bleeding or pain and suspect that you may be pregnant, call your GP immediately so that he can rule out other causes of bleeding such as ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage.
