Early Pregnancy Symptoms - Mood Swings
Mood swings and irritability commonly accompany pregnancy and not surprisingly can be frustrating, not just for the mother-to-be, but also for those suffering the brunt!
However, with lots of pregnancy hormones raging through your body, as well as coping with sickness and tiredness, is it really any wonder pregnant women find their moods change frequently?
Many pregnant women find that whereas at one moment they may be perfectly happy, the next they will be in floods of tears. And very often it takes very little to set off one of these episodes!
If you find yourself getting stressed and losing your temper or becoming overly emotional or tearful, try to take some gentle exercise, get more rest and eat a healthy, balanced diet - if you can face it! Also, try eliminating caffeine from your diet and replacing your usual tea or coffee with non-caffeinated alternatives.
If you fins that your mood swings are getting out of control, see your GP as you may be suffering from pre-natal depression which is often easily treated with a short course of suitable anti-depressants and/ or counselling.
