30 Weeks Pregnant - Signs of Pregnancy
Mother
At 30 weeks pregnant your skin may be feeling a little stretched and even itchy. You may find some pregnancy oils or creams help but see your GP if the itching is severe or very troublesome as this can signify other problems.
Now may also be a good time to prepare your birth plan! At your next antenatal appointment you should discuss your birth options with your GP or midwife.
If you are considering having your baby's umbilical cord blood stored for either private or public use then cord blood banking is something you need to look into and this is a good time to contact a cord blood registry.
Baby
By now your baby is much more active and you will be noticing a lot more of his kicks and turns. He can also suck his hands and swallow a lot better. He now measures around 24 cm from head to toe! His lanugo is disappearing and he weighs almost 3lb! His bone marrow is now producing red blood cells and his brain is growing rapidly. Little toenails are growing!
