Pregnancy and Labor: Packing Your Hospital Bags
When you're pregnant it's advisable to pack your hospital bags several weeks before your baby's due date. With this in mind we've put together a few suggestions for your labor and postnatal bags!
TENS Machine, if providing your own
Super absorbent Sanitary Towels
Relaxing Music/ Favourite CD
Photo of your other children/ neices or nephews - very useful during pushing to remind you what the end result will be!
Mirror - if you want to see baby's head crowning!
Camera/Camcorder - Spare batteries & film if required!
Mobile Phone/ Money for Public Phone
Snacks for Partner
Mum's Postnatal Hospital Bag:
Sanitary Pads Super Absorbant
Showergel/ Bubble Bath
Going Home Clothes & Shoes
Cotton Wool/ Unscented Baby Wipes
Baby Bubble Bath
Going Home Outfit
Note: If you have to be admitted to hospital early due to complications or for a scheduled C-section, it' a good idea to add some earplugs! Hospitals are noisy places and it's important you rest as much as you can before giving birth. However, do not be tempted to use the earplugs after the baby is born as you will be unable to hear him when he cries.
