Birth Injury Claims

Birth injury claims are becoming more common as the demand on health services increases and cutbacks on spending mean that staff just aren't available, are under so much pressure that they make avoidable mistakes or fail to notice important details.

Inevitably things sometimes go wrong and as a result some of the most common birth injury claims are for birth injuries such as Cerebal Palsy, Brachial Plexus injuries such as Erb's Palsy, perineal tears, stillbirth, neonatal death, negligent caesarean surgery and undiagnosed abnormalities.

Many of these injuries could potentially have been avoided if the patient had received adequate care during pregnancy or childbirth. In some instances the babies born with a birth injury would have led a perfectly normal life but for the fact a potentially avoidable problem occured.

If you feel that you or your child have suffered as a result of inadequate care during your pregnancy or the birth of your baby, you may be able to sue your care-givers or health authority for damages.

If you do decide to take out a malpractice suit, you should choose a specialist team of birth injury lawyers to deal with your case.
