Early Asbestosis Symptoms
Early asbestosis symptoms usually start to develop 15-20 years after initial exposure to asbestos. Symptoms are usually mild to begin with and get worse as time passes.
Early symptoms of asbestosis include:
Shortness of breath (often after some form of physical activity, but eventually while at rest too)
A troublesome cough
Chest pain
Finger clubbing (very rarely) - Finger clubbing means the finger tips and nails become oddly shaped, red and swollen and is due to fluid building up in the finger tissues.
