Mesothelioma Risks and Causes - SV40 Virus
The simian virus, also known as SV40, is thought in some circles to increase the risk of developing mesothelioma but only if a sufferer has also been exposed to another major risk factor, such as contact with asbestos.
However, the risk has not been proven and scientists are very divided about its role in the development of the disease.
