Miscarriage Poems - For My Little One
For My Little One
My heart is broken,
I'm so sad and blue,
Why? Oh why?
Didn't I get the chance,
To hold and be with you?
I close my eyes and think of you,
And all the joy you bought me,
Of all the love I have for you,
My darling Angel baby.
The little life I had inside,
Filled me with such glee,
Of all the things I'd show you,
And how you'd smile at me.
I'd see your little face looking up at me,
A joyful little bundle,
Safe in my arms,
A feeling of being so happy.
Then I felt so angry and knotted up inside,
The day they told me I wouldn't have you,
Is the day I cried and cried.
'You've got it wrong, please don't let it be true',
I wanted to scream at them,
Such despair and heartache at the words,
'I'm so sorry, it's not good news'.
Now I'm empty and all alone,
'Cos you couldn't stay with me,
All the sorrow in my heart,
Of what will never be.
I never got the chance to say goodbye,
It fills me with such pain,
But deep in my heart,
I know one day we'll be together again.
For when my time is done here,
I'll get to come to you,
To hold you in my arms,
To show you just how much I've always loved and wanted you.
Please know we'll never forget you,
Little Angel in our heart,
We love you so very much our baby,
Our precious shining star.
