Miscarriage Poems - Taken Too Soon
Taken Too Soon
It took only a moment,
And you gave my life meaning.
A reason to wake each day,
And to just keep breathing.
In just two short weeks,
I'd never experienced such happiness.
Then they told me you were gone,
And I'm left deep in sadness.
There is no heartbeat,
I'm so sorry to tell you.
And all they can tell me is,
'There's nothing you could do.'
I never got to feel you move
But I knew you were there.
I'll never get to hold you,
Or ever stroke your hair.
It's so hard to accept
You were doomed from the start.
How could He tease me,
And tear apart my heart.
So many emotions
Battling it out in my head.
The anger, the sadness, the jealousy,
Sometimes even wishing I were dead.
I envisioned your arrival,
Around the 12th of June.
But God had other plans for you,
And has taken you too soon.
You will forever be remembered,
As the days come and they go.
Mommy and Daddy love you dearly,
More than you'll ever know.
