Reading your Results

The first figure in the table shows how much you would repay each month for a repayment mortgage. This is the total you would pay and includes interest and payment off the capital loan amount that you have borrowed. By paying off some of the capital each month you are also reducing the total amount you owe.

The second figure shows the amount of interest payment only. You are not paying anything at all off the capital loan amount so you need to have some other means of paying off the capital when the term of the loan matures. do not forget to add any payments you are making into an endowment, pension or ISA to this amount to get a true reflection of the monthly total.
