Signs of Stillbirth
If you are worried that your baby may be at risk of stillbirth, potential signs to look out for include:
Vaginal Bleeding
Baby is moving less than normal
Baby has stopped moving completely
Although it is not usually possible to prevent stillbirth, by being vigilant and monitoring your baby's movements carefully it is sometimes the case that stillbirth can be prevented. This is particularly true if the factor affecting the baby is the mother's health.
You should see your GP immediately, or visit your hospital, if you experience any vaginal bleeding during your pregnancy or if you are worried about your baby's movement or lack of movement. It is likely that your doctor will listen to your baby’s heart rate with a fetal doppler or refer you to hospital for an ultrasound scan.
