Pregnancy Essentials
Following is a list of pregnancy essentials, some for pampering yourself, others that you will most definitely need during pregnancy, labour and birth!
Lavender Bubble Bath/ Essential Oil (check it's safe for use in pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding!)
Fluffy Towels
Comfortable pyjamas/ slippers/ dressing gown
V-shaped Cushion (useful for posture in pregnancy and later as support if breastfeeding.)
Relaxing Music
DVD player/ iPod/ MP3
Scrunchies
Water Spray (great during labour for cooling you down!)
Fan (a quiet one for night-time use - you may find you get extremely hot during pregnancy especially at night!)
Big Hospital Bag/Nappy Changing Bag
Soothing Face Cream
Maternity Bras/ Nursing Bras
Nursing Pads for last few weeks of Pregnancy (you may begin to leak a little colostrom, the first early milk, in preparation for breastfeeding whether you intend to breastfeed or not.)
Belt Extenders
Elasticated Waistbands
Sweets/ Dry Biscuits/ Ginger (great for sudden drops in sugar levels which may contribute to feelings of nausea/ morning sickness)
Pregnancy Vitamins (ask your GP or pharmacist for recommendations and request some that contain Folic acid - which should be taken pre-pregnancy too!)
Lots of Fresh Fruit/ Veg
Birthplan
Camera/ Camcorder (spare batteries/ film/ memory card/ disk)
