Credit Cards: Student Credit Cards

Students are now able to apply for their own credit cards although normally they need a parent to co-sign. Very often student credit cards will have a low interest rate although this will increase once the student leaves education and is employed.

The main problem with student credit cards is that students often abuse them as they may need the money and don't tend to see their spending as a short term loan. This can result in building up quite a bill at the end of student life with interest increasing daily!

You should really only consider using a student credit card for emergencies or for buying products and services that require protection and only if you know you will clear your balance frequently, before accruing interest on your borrowings.

Other credit cards to consider include:

Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Low Interest Rate Credit Cards

Cash Back Credit Cards
