Early Symptoms of Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Early symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are very difficult to detect as they are often attributed to something less serious. However, the symptoms outlined below are known signs of peritoneal mesothelioma.

If you are suffering from any of them, it is worth remembering that they are much more likely to be due to another illness and so you should try not to panic unnecessarily until the appropriate tests are performed.

If you know or think you may have been exposed to asbestos or other mesothelioma risks in the past and you are having the following symptoms then you should mention it to your doctor as a matter of urgency.

Abdominal pain and /or swelling

Loss of appetite

A Mass which is sometime visible or can be felt upon external examination

Feeling sick or vomiting

Fever

Anaemia

Bowel obstruction

Constipation or diarrhoea

Chest pain

Blood clotting abnormalities

Loss of 10%+ of your body weight when not dieting
