Giving Birth Vaginally after a C-Section

Giving birth vaginally after a c-section is a big consideration for many mothers-to- be, particularly if the previous caesarian birth was unplanned.

It is a misconception that once a mother has had one c-section that she will be unable to have a natural vaginal birth. Many women successfully go on to give birth vaginally after a cesarian.

If you do find yourself pregnant again after having had one c-section, you should make sure you discuss your birth options with your doctor as soon as possible. If your doctor seems keen for you to have another c-section, enquire why this is the case and ask about the possibility of a vaginal birth.
