11 Weeks Pregnant - Signs of Pregnancy
Mother
At 11 weeks pregnant you may be offered a nuchal fold translucency test, which looks for indications of Down's Syndrome.
This test, like Chorionic Villus Sampling, is usually recommended only if your baby is at heightened risk of being affected with a serious inherited condition.
Baby
Little teeth continue to form beneath your baby's gums and his bones are beginning to harden. He now has separate fingers and toes and can even move them! At this stage he may even be able to make a fist. His heart is also beating very fast, approximately double the rate of mum's and can be seen on ultrasound. Hair and nails are growing and genitals begin forming, although as yet the baby's sex cannot be determined on ultrasound.
