12 Weeks Pregnant - Signs of Pregnancy
Mother
12 weeks pregnant is an exciting moment in your diary as you may be having your first official antenatal appointment, your "booking in".
During this appointment your consultant or midwife will discuss your antenatal care, your birth plan and arrangements for after the birth. They may also discuss your diet and whether or not you will consider breastfeeding.
This week is also often the time when many couples choose to share their news of their pregnancy with family and friends!
Baby
By the end of week 12 all your baby's major organs and limbs are fully formed and his liver and pancreas begin functioning. His vocal cords are forming and his eyes begin to move into their proper position. Your baby's fingers and toes are completely separated and little fingernails have started growing! Baby also moves, kicks, stretches and bounces around, although it is still too early for you to feel these movements.
